Highly intelligent and eager to please, the Shiloh Shepherd requires a dominant and firm owner. Dominance issues could arise if not properly handled.

Given the correct handling and training, the Shiloh Shepherd does very well in obedience trials as well as agility.

The Shiloh Shepherd is a large breed that requires a lot of exercise to remain healthy and active. Shiloh Shepherds love long walks and should be given at least two per day.

Shiloh Shepherds require regular brushing to prevent matts or tangling, especially for the plush variety.
