A cross between a Poodle and a Golden Retriever, the Goldendoodle was bred as an alternative to the Labradoodle — a Labrador Retriever and Poodle mix.

The Goldendoodle enjoys outdoor sports and activities, especially swimming.

A high-energy dog, Goldendoodles are playful and loyal with strong attachments to their owners. Separation anxiety is common.

A Goldendoodle’s coat depends on its generation — tighter curls when more Poodle and looser curls when more Golden.

The Goldendoodle does not require much grooming attention, but its coat does require maintenance once the coat has fully formed.

Goldendoodles sports a full facial beard as an adult. They are a light-shedding breed.
